Boy, do I have a lot to tell all my fabulous Monkee Girls! I have just experienced every girl’s dream on a trip I took to Palm Beach, Florida with my fabulous manager, Catherine.
Last weekend, Catherine and I traveled down to Palm Beach to see the Summer 2010 line of Lilly Pulitzer. To even be allowed to go on such an exciting, little excursion was an honor for me; Not to mention (as you might have already noticed) that I am a total Lilly freak, so this was like a dream come true.
Arriving at the airport, Catherine and I were so excited to be flying down to warm weather and no longer be in the presence of snow and ice, but of course no trip can occur without a little blunder. Trying to check in at the ticket gate, we realized Catherine had accidentally booked the tickets for Saturday instead of Sunday. So we had arrived (very fashionably, of course) 24 hours late. No worries, though! With a LOT of help from our new friend Fran, (the ticket lady for U.S. Airways), we got on the next flight to Palm Beach and simply arrived a few hours late.
We finally reached our destination of the Colony Hotel of Palm Beach, and received our very own Lilly gift bags! O.M.G. Amazing. It was like being a celebrity. We got the cutest Lilly stockings, Cocktail shakers (which we have in the store- get one before they run out), Lilly magazines, candies, and more! I was already in heaven!

After freshening up and going for a walk on Worth Avenue, we satisfied our hungry tummies with a fantastic dinner at Taboo Restaurant, which is known for its “people watching.” We had quite a few giggles over dinner at some of the sites, and were certainly entertained for the evening.
After a unbelievably good nights sleep, we met the rest of the Lilly girls in the lobby for a walk around town and then onto the show! During our rendezvous in the lobby, the Lilly gals announced that they had a surprise for us that day, so of course Catherine and I’s minds are burning rubber trying to think of what the surprise could be.
When we finally settled in at the show room, they announced their surprise. I thought I was going to die. WE WERE GOING TO MEET LILLY PULITZER! Catherine just looked at me, and I believe my mouth dropped, my eyes popped out, and I was unable to speak.
Let me preface my love of Lilly a little bit. Ever since I can remember, Lilly has been my idol. If I could choose to meet any person in the entire world, I would choose Lilly Pulitzer. I admire her spunk, desire her hostess ingenuity, and envy her creative brilliance. I have read every book available on her, and have collected almost every Lilly catalog printed. My closet is absolutely littered with Lilly clothing. I aspire to be Lilly Pulitzer.
So, after almost dying right there in the Lilly showroom, I had to concentrate on the fabulous new Lilly line (which is gorgeous). The prints are fantastic with bold colors and exquisite styles, a.k.a. everything you will need for summer events, the beach, and just a day out with the girls.
When Lilly finally arrived, I could barely speak. She shook my hand, complimented my new Resort Lilly dress, and even sat next to me during lunch! Chatting with Lilly Pulitzer was a breathtaking (literally!) delight.
Catherine and I were even allowed to take a picture with her!

This was my dream come true. This was the trip of a lifetime for us. After meeting her, I immediately called my little sister, who is also a Lilly fan, and she was too funny answering the phone. “Hello, you have reached Jeri, who is no longer speaking to Johnna, please leave a message.” Can you tell she was a little jealous?
Since I have already written a novel, I will end this blog. But don’t worry, I have so much more to tell you about all the inspiration this trip gave us! Be on the look out for great events and promotions in the future. I’ll be sharing all these ideas with you because I want my blog readers to be involved and in the know with Monkee’s!
Until next time, Fashionably Yours,
Johnna
